If you are planning to watch the annual Vienna VA fireworks show on July 4th, 2011, then you should remember that they will be set off at 9:15 at Southside Park.
Although I have been living in Vienna almost 22 years, this hidden location which is tucked into Vienna Woods is off the beaten path… even for this Vienna Real Estate Guy! Parking along the streets will be allowed but at a reasonable walking distance since the close-by streets are narrow. So plan to walk a little.

The Town of Vienna has posted an events schedule for the day’s events at the Vienna Community Center, and a map showing the fireworks site and areas to sit and watch the fireworks on Monday July 4th, 2011.

Hey, I’m glad to hear Vienna is continuing the fireworks tradition. I was reading in The Washington Post that many municipalities are forgoing fireworks due to budget concerns. They ain’t cheap.
Actually the Vienna, VA 4th of July fireworks event has a sponsor, Air Treatment Company of Vienna.
We are creatures of habit and people need to know that the Town of Vienna has moved the fireworks show across town to Southside Park from Waters Field. I’m sure people will show up at the old site saying, “hey, where are the fireworks?”

This is actually the 2nd year they have been at this site. I sat in my front yard and watched them shoot off from this location last year. Beats the laser show prior to that – but still not the same as the Waters Field spot before that!
I was out of town last year so it was news to me when I read about it in the Town Newsletter. Next year I will try and find room on your lawn!
